April 2000-2004: Reading of creative work at the UIC high school poetry contest awards ceremony, for which I served as a judge. An annual event honoring young writers from communities throughout Illinois.
September 2002: Juried poetry reading at the Fall 2002 Around the Coyote Arts Festival, Chicago, IL. Event was a feature of the Poetry Center of Chicago's Discovery Reading Series.
May 2002: Juried reading at Woman Made Gallery featuring poetry and visual art about the body. Reading also served as a book release party for Inhabiting the Body: A Collection of Poetry and Art hy Women.
October 2001: Participated in WFMT Chicago's Poem a Day project, reading a poem on the radio in conjunction with the Chicago Public Library's Back to Books Month.

Ongoing: The University of Illinois at Chicago, English 210: "Introduction to Writing Poetry" (taught Fall 2000, Summer 2001, Fall 2001, Spring 2003, Spring 2004, Summer 2004).
April 2003: Led Rhino Forum community poetry workshop, Evanston Public Library. Gave a presentation on the theory and craft of List Poetry, and offered personalized comments to workshop participants.
2001-2002: Poet-in-Residence, Hands on Stanzas: Taught twenty poetry writing sessions for fourth, seventh, and eighth grade Chicago Public Schools students. Taught basic skills for reading and analyzing poems written in
English and Spanish, compiled two anthologies of student writing, and attended regular professional development seminars.
July 2001: Led Rhino Forum poetry workshop for Chicago area writers, Evanston Public Library. Presented on the poetry of Thylias Moss, and offered feedback to workshop participants.
